Baia Mare is located in northern Romania and has a population of about
150,000. It's an important cultural centre, hosting numerous theatres, schools,
museums and art galleries. Close to the city there are a few very important
natural reservations, such as Creasta Cocoşului and Lacul Albastru. Its location
in the Eastern Carpathian mountains makes Baia Mare one of the most picturesque
cities in Romania.
